Frank Zummo went to his first Mötley Crüe concert when he was just five years old.
But even when he was being carried out at the end of the show by his dad, he knew that that was a band he not only loved but also was going to play with. Flash forward a decade and some more time later, and you’ll find Frank clicking his sticks over his drum kit following a proper Tommy Lee introduction.
Street Drum Corps, Sum 41, and, yes, Mötley Crüe guest drummer Frank’s life has been about taking advantage of opportunities. But like any good story of circumstance, it hasn’t been without its fair share of sleepless nights, long drives, and broken-down U-Hauls. Our latest 805 Beer Original film, Rise Up, tells the story of all this, as well as Frank’s ascendency, talents, and ability to surround himself with incredible artists like he’s now found with his family at 805.

Frank is the kind of drummer who doesn’t just keep time, he shatters it. Best known for his work with Sum 41, Street Drum Corps, and Mötley Crüe, Zummo plays with a fierce intensity that leaves drum kits and eardrums ringing in his wake.
Joining Sum 41 in 2015, Zummo brought thunderous energy to the band’s punk-metal mix, cranking up the volume and delivering beats that could knock down the padded sound walls of any studio. But he’s not just about punk anthems, as the founding member of Street Drum Corps, he led a percussive revolution using everything from oil barrels to kitchen sinks. It’s not just drumming, it’s a full-on spectacle.
When Mötley Crüe needed a drummer to fill in for Tommy Lee, they called Zummo to bring the noise. And he brought it, hammering out arena-shaking beats to thousands who learned that night that rock wasn’t just alive, it’s on fire.
Zummo’s style is a blend of technical precision and raw, unfiltered power. He’s a drummer’s drummer. Obsessed with perfecting his craft, but never losing sight of the groove. Whether on a stadium stage or a street corner, Zummo plays like he’s got something to prove, and he proves it every time he picks up the sticks.
As our newest 805 Beer Authentico, Frank joins a family of creatives making their own beat and kicking back with a cold one at the end of it all. Welcome to the family, Frank, and cheers.
