We met up with the crew at Deadend Worldwide in Salinas, CA, to find out how they mix up fresh and easy micheladas using 805 Cerveza. Juan and Jesus taught us the quick and simple michelada recipe they use to stay refreshed after a cruise night, car show, or just any lay day around the garage. What’s a michelada, you might ask? Well, it’s a prepared beer done in a traditional Mexican style. They’re quick, easy, and beyond delicious.
— Jesus Espinoza805 Cerveza is perfect because it already has a hint of lime in it.
With micheladas, it’s all about the sour and spice components. When these two play off each other, it changes the dynamic of the beer completely and leads to a refreshingly flavorful mixture. Let’s take a peek behind the curtain and see how Deadend does theirs:
- Rim a glass with Tajin or spices, and toss some ice in that glass for good measure
- Pour in a 12oz of 805 Cerveza
- Squeeze one whole lime into the beer
- Mix in 4oz-5oz of tomato cocktail juice
- Top with a splash of your favorite hot sauce
As Juan and Jesus explained, there’s no right way to make a michelada, as it’s all about what tastes good to you and your crew. We washed ours down with some killer carne asada tacos, but it’s hard to go wrong when you have an icy michelada in hand. Whether you’re in the garage, at the car show, or enjoying some time in the sun, they always go down smoothly.
— Juan EspinozaThere’s nothing better than hanging out, eating tacos, and drinking a good michelada.
