Ah, so that’s how it’s done.
After a full week in Huntington Beach for the US Open of Surfing, we’re still shaking the sand out of our hair. The agenda was pretty straightforward: get some surfing in, enjoy watching some surfing, crack into some cold ones at our Cold Beer Surf Club Beach Bar, take in both a Sublime and Tropa Magica show, and fill the good times in between with even more excitement.
Oh, and then there was the Factory By The Sea. A two-day celebration of surfing, music, art, films, and all things core in surfing, we collaborated with our pals at Inherent Bummer for it all and, judging by the thousands of people that came by, we did a pretty good job at keeping things rad.
It all went down at the International Museum of Surfing, just two blocks back from the sand. You could tell we were in the severe cultural damage zone of the US Open of Surfing blast radius because everyone who is anyone blew to both say hello and stick around for a beer.
We took advantage of it all by setting up a mobile podcast unit so we could take the Cold Beer Surf Club live. Host Conner Coffin was on the tools, and welcomed personalities like Noah Beschen, Zeke Lau, Kekoa Cazimero, Tyler Bereman, Greyson Fletcher, Lakey Peterson, Nate Tyler and a whole lot more. Stay tuned for the fresh podcasts from that all, as they’ll be dropping for your listening pleasure here soon.
For now, have a scroll through the photo roundup from the event. Relive the good times, play some Where’s Waldo with your favorite surfer, or check out what ‘yah missed and induce a proper bit of FOMO.
Thanks to our friends at Inherent Bummer, Range Essentials, Turtlebox, Reef, Epokhe, Sur Coffee, Avva, and every rad individual who helped us make this all happen. Start making plans for next year too, because we’re coming in even hotter.
