Organized by Andy McKay of Surfers of Tomorrow and SLO CAL, the SLO CAL Open Pismo Beach took place in February 2020. These events are great opportunities for local Central Coast surfers to get a behind-the-scenes look in the World Surf League’s (WSL) Qualifying Series.
The SLO CAL Open at Pismo Beach had 136 competitors from North America and eight international countries such as Brasil, Costa Rica, Japan and South Africa.
The Men’s Champion is Kevin Schulz
The Women’s Champion is Sawyer Lindblad – This marks Lindblad’s first-ever WSL victory at just age 14.
Pismo is one of our local surf spots and always makes for an epic scene.
